Obesity and eating disorders: an interactive and complex coexistence
Obesity is the medical condition most frequently observed in people with eating disorders. It often coexists with binge-eating disorder and with some cases of bulimia nervosa, night eating syndrome, and atypical anorexia nervosa. Obesity can precede the onset of eating disorders, sometimes representing a risk factor for their onset, or can be in part the consequence of recurrent binge-eating episodes.

Putative mediators of enhanced cognitive behaviour therapy for adolescents with anorexia nervosa
The effectiveness of enhanced cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT-E) for adolescents with anorexia has been supported by several cohort studies and a non-randomized effectiveness trial comparing this treatment with family-based treatment (FBT). However, although many patients achieve a good outcome, a significant proportion still has residual psychopathology at the end of the CBT-E.

American Academy of Pediatrics Clinical Practice Guideline for the Evaluation and Treatment of Children and Adolescents with Obesity: What we can learn versus what we can apply in clinical practice
The American Academy of Pediatrics released its first guideline for the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with obesity, which was negatively received by eating disorders experts and anti-weight stigma activists around the world. As a primary care physician and an eating disorders practitioner, dealing with the devastating effects of both excess weight and eating disorders in kids and teens, I read with great interest the recently published guideline.

The network analysis in patients with anorexia nervosa treated with intensive enhanced cognitive behavior therapy: reflections on the research data
Network theory has proposed a different way of conceptualizing the psychopathology of mental disorders and has increasingly attracted the interest of researchers, theorists, and clinicians in the last ten years. The theory has the potential to provide a new way of thinking about mental disorders that does justice to their complex nature.
